The one RES I've had for nearly two years so far has had the name Scooter for a while. The first few months I had her, I was quite elusive on what to name my turtle, since before I was convinced that she was a he when she was a baby. However, ever since my turtle always likes to scamper away into the water from her basking area in case she sees me or my dad walking around, I named her Scooter from that. When she scatters into the water, she makes scooting noises, which is adorable.

Our 2 year old son has named ours Snake LOL he was calling her Neem but now is insistent that the turtle is Snake Neem, SNAKE mama!! Is what he yells at me when I say hi turtle

There's actually a sticky note on my tanks to remind me who is who. Any who, I only have 1 regular colored RES, whose
ship mate perished several weeks back while his condition is improving greatly.

Ralph haha by accident though my turtle is actually a girl, but I got so attached to the name ralph that ive kept calling her that

We named our adopted turtle Logan after X-men Wolverine after seeing his claws

I had planed on Leo but his claws are so huge...(am assuming its a he by his claws)

Yoshi & Sheldon. just picked up these two babies a couple weeks ago on vacation. had no idea what was involved. have since spent hundreds of dollars on building an appropriate home to accommodate them. I have been learning a lot about them on line & thankfully found this sight. I appreciate all of you sharing your knowledge on the topic, so novices like me can keep them healthy and happy. again, this is the first time we have owned turtles - they don't even sell them in my state (NC). wish us luck!!!

Hello all!!! I'm new today. But I have named them Don(painted) and Abby(RES). I like naming them people names, because they are my babies. Just like my three children and my three grandbabies.
