No, it's too small! That would've been nice though!! Oh and a new UPDATE!! I got them a filter! I found a Fluval 305 on CL! It's up and running but I need to order some parts for it to properly set it up!!

You can try Big Al's (online) to find the parts you need for your filter. They used to be a standalone site, but have joined the Amazon.com crew. So maybe shop for good prices on Amazon and if you like Big Al's order straight from their site so you can earn "points"

If they can't fit in the cave, just make sure they "really" can't fit in so they don't get stuck. It would makes a great stepping stool to the basking area, which leads to....

I can't tell exactly from the picture, but you want both lights to hit the basking area - the UVB/UVA in particular. It doesn't cut through water or glass well, so I'd make that the first priority. Then you can adjust the basking (heat making) lamp wherever it needs to be to heat up the basking area. You can find a cheap thermometer in the reptile section of the pet store to easily see what the temp is in the basking area. That way, you can know if the light is close enough to make the basking area 10-15 degrees above the water temp.

For sure they dont fit, its a hide out for the feeder fish and it was a stepping stool until i filled it up with more water!

The only thing is that i just realized that the basking temp is too high!!
I had the thermometer on the glass where the basking spot is and it would read about 82!
Today i placed it on the basking rock and it reads 104!! Theyve been basking all this time!!!
Its on a 75W bulb, if i replace it with a 50 would it bring the temp down to about 90?

Theyre definitly less grumpy!!! Our female Jade is now more happy and not aggressive! Our male Bert which was the shy one is now swimming/eating/basking more!!

Thanks when we originally brought it we knew it was too small for them to go in but we got it as a resting spot and a stepping stool to the baskin area!! Theyre was also a half log thing that you see in the reptile tanks for lizards and snakes but it would take up too much swimming space so we just went for this one!!

Ok I fixed the temp issue! I put the Uva/Uvb light directly over the basking spot and moved the basking/heat light away according to the temp! They should be good!

What wattage was the basking bulb? Also be aware that a fine screen mesh will filter some of the UVB rays.

the basking light was a 75w! I switched it out for a 50w! That way they're both on the basking spot! I also got them a bigger basking platform!

By the way, im almost got my Hands on a 150 gallon tank setup! I found 2 on CL for $150 with everything included!

I hope I always stay like this tho because if I ever loose interest those turtles my get neglected! For some reason I can't stop thinking about them! There's still a big list of things I want to get to make them and me a bit happier! Plus this is pretty much my first time having a fish tank so right now im like a kid at a candy store! =}
