I'm from Tampa as well and bought two turtles from the Brandon Mall (bad move). Needless to say, I was sorely ignorant about how much committment is actually required to properly care for turtles and one of my turts died as well. But after four months and a bout of pneumonia (and reading every page on this site) Abby is doing very well. There are a couple of good fish stores in the area that cater to exotic pets and I found a good vet that I take Abby to if I am having troubles. Not sure the policy of the board, but I can pass along my email address if you like and we can compare notes.
