OK, Just an up date. I have been messing around with the tank. I took all the rocks out. Got way bigger rocks, It was even more messy then the little river rocks. So I took them out all together. Nothing on the bottom of the tank now.
As you all know from my posts above that when I got these "girls" They had regular fish gravel for about 2 years. Well every once in a while I will find 1 to 3 of them in the bottom of the tank.... (pooping them out??) I take them out quickly so they wont eat them again.
That new basking dock that I bought is getting to small already. ha ha They are growing sooooo fast!! I measured them the other day and they have grown a little over 3/4 of an inch just in 2 months. They are now just over 4".
They started shedding Heavily (one more then the other) it was creepy looking and made the tank very yucky!!
Ohhhh and my daughter has named them..... Aqua and Bamboo
I just wanted to say thank you for all your guys advice it has helped out a lot.
Now that they are getting bigger, you can slowly reduce the water temperature down to around 73 to 76 degrees. Warmer water will cause them to shed more (and possibly grow too fast). Since it's summer it may be harder to get the temps down but once fall comes, you should aim for the lower to mid 70's.
