Hiya,
I'm a new turtle owner. I've never even know anyone who owned a turtle before. His name is Boris and here's his story:

The day after Xmas my partner and I were in the 15th street subway station here in Philly and came across a man with a cardboard box...He had 3 or 4 red-ears in their own little plastic carry cases. All of the turtles had approx. 1-1½" long shells. This guy really saw me coming. As soon as I started the "their so cute!" routine he wanted to sell me all of them! I picked the one with the brightest eyes and the most energy. I knew they sold them in china town but I wasn't going to go out of my way to aquire another mouth to feed.

Since then he has graduated from that little plastic case to a bigger, flat plastic case to his new home of a 10 gallon tank.

He's doing really well and starting to shed.

Thanks for you're time.
Peace,
Cayte

Welcome to the forum! I like the name Boris for your new turt. You know "he" could turn out to be a "she"? But you won't cross that bridge for quite a while!

Hi welcome to the forum!

Please try and get a bigger aquairum, you need a 20 gallon, but when he/she is full grown you will need a 120 gallon aquarium. Your turtle needs a UVB light, and a cansiter filter...

I have three 4 inch turtles, housed in a 170 gallon aquarium.
Hi, My names Carter.

I have 3 Res about 4 inches long named, Chester, Carlos and Lily!

Mine's full grown at 9 inches & is in a 90 gallon tank. So a 120 gallon is not required if the don't grow to be 12 inches long.
