I bought my 14 year old son two turtles at a fleat market. The guy sold me a teeny plastic bowl with a raised section on top and a plastic palm tree. I didn't know a thing about turtles, so I went looking and found turtle talk. Great place! So here we are with two turtles in a dinky little plastic bowl, and I'm reading all the information on here, and I guess tomorrow we'll be working on a better set-up for these little guys. He named them Leftie and Rightie, fortunately one is darker than the other so we can tell them apart. I'm looking forward to watching them grow, I can see already that they have personalities!

That's wonderful. I'd reccomend that you start out with the largest set up you can afford. Some start out with a 10 gallon and work up ,but in the long run they waste a lot of money.

Welcome!

Welcome to the forum! I second the suggestion. I major purchase is a lot cheaper than several smaller ones. And what a better time to go shopping, than the after Christmas sales.

Welcome! Don't know where you live, but I recently saw that Petco has a sale on 55+ gallon tanks with the stand. You could save lots if you buy bigger now! :)

Thanks, I'd love to save, but this soon after Christmas it just isn't going to happen. Dh raises cichlids so we have a spare 20 gallon tank that we're setting up as a temp home for the little guys. I know we'll need something bigger soon though..... PS My son's name is Tanner:o)
