Hey, I'm new to the site. I've been raising a RES for 17yrs now and added a Yellow Belly to keep him company last summer. Although that kinda backfired as they are not getting along great lately. I also added 2 baby Yellow Bellys and a baby RES before that. However they are seperate and one of the younger Yellow Bellys has been put in solitary since he nearly killed the other one. So for all of you looking to find your turtles "a friend" I have 1/3 success rate so far. I know its tempting and lots of turtles need homes but I don't reccommend it.

Great site by the way, very informative and detaild. Also, glad to see there is lots of other turtle fans out there.

Welcome and thanks for sharing your experience. Many people come here asking if they should or shouldn't get another turtle. As you've stated, sometime it will work, most times it won't.

Welcome. That's amazing 17 years. I hope that my Zeke lives that long, he's 5 years old, but I'Ve only had him for 2 months...he was dumped after his former owners 'tired' of him.
