Hello, some of you have seen my posts. I have never even touched a turle before having these. I recently acquired to RES at a yard for $5. The lady said that she got them a week prior at a flea market (bad bad) and they were sick with a white cottony film all over them. She didn't want them to die so she put them up for sale. So, I bought them for my son. He's 10. With a little internet sluething I found out what to do about the fungus and called my vet who concured with my findings.

Today I am going to the supply store to buy a habitat for the little ones. We'll keep the turtles and feed them live food and as a summer "project" we enjoy our temporary pets. Then, we'll give them up to the wildlife presserve authority in September when school starts up.

Welcome to the board, if you can post what you did about that white cottony film, it would sure help to know what to do when and if it happens to someone else. :D

I have used a formula in the past from the pet store that is for fish that have cotton fungus it worked, in less than a week the cottony white beard and fuzzy legs were clear and no harm to the turtle came, I remember putting a few drops into a turtle lagoon placing the turt in the medicated water for several hours and then rinsing the bowl clean every day sorta like a bath time thing?
