Hey watsup, im Geoff and I just got a new res. Its in a 20gal long, all by its self. No pics yet, but will soon.

Just a quick question. I have a uva light up and running but i dont have a uvb light as of right now, how long do u think it would be okay for the res to be without a uvb lamp.

I don't have one either, but I was recommended to take my turtle outside to get sunlight, which is basic what the ubv light is I believe. And they need direct sunlight, because windows and stuff filters the ubv rays.
I don't know how long they can go with out it, but I say not very long since they may get a solf shell. lol I'm new too, so hopefully i got my info right.
By the way, welcome to the forum! :D

Welcome! How long is it going to be before you are able to get a UVB bulb? Like Anette said, make sure your turtle is getting outside for some unfiltered sunlight. Also be sure that your turtle has somewhere to go in the shade and make sure he is well supervised...turtles are great escape artists.

Welcome :-)

I wouldn't let him go any longer than a week before getting a uvb bulb.
