Hi guys! Looks like this forum will be fun! 8) I wish we can share each others knowledge about Red Eared Slider Turtles! I joined this forum to gain more knowledge about Red Eared Slider Turtles and also because of my recent research that I will be conducting in the next few months. :roll: I need help with my research and I hope you guys can help me out. I think most care information is based on anecdotal information. There is more scientific information about UVB and temperature requirements.

Oh I see. My adviser asked me if there are anything positive that RES Turtles do to our world? The RES Turtle is an invasive species and I can't think of anything that they do to our world other than that they are really nice pets... I must say. 8)

The fact that they are invasive and considered to be invasive highlights human ignorance and laziness. They are invasive because we constantly breed them as cheap pets and release them when we no longer are interested in them. Any upside? They can be hardy pets. They are usually the top of the food chain in their environment, so they keep things in check. They are an ethnic food source, so that might help relieve the more endangered species.
