I've just acquired a red eared slider from a friend of mine. He has a small male and this one was too aggressive towards the smaller male. I've had prior experience with reptiles, I raised a 5ft male green iguana so I stepped up to this challenge. My RES's name is Mia, she is almost 5 inches long and seems very active with an extremely healthy appetite and seems to tolerate with our children well.
I immediately purchased a 65 gallon aquarium and proper lighting. We are feeding her reptimin pellets and veggies, with occasional meal worms and crickets.
