Hi, my name is Jenny and I have a female res. I'm not sure how old she was when I got her but I have had her for four years now. Is is about six inches ssl. Quick question though, I currently live in Louisiana and I'm planning on moving to Colorado soon, any tips on moving her? I will be driving.

Awesome thanks, dumb question I'm sure and if this belongs somewhere else please redirect me, but why shouldn't she be in at least shallow water? I know turtles don't need to eat everyday and often travel long distances on land which means they can be out of the water but wouldn't it make it less stressful for her to be in water?

No problem. Putting her in a shallow water may lead to drowning -- she can flip over while travelling, and she won't have the ability to flip herself back because of the shallow water. That's why there's a tip there that says to check them regularly.

Welcome to the forum! Keep her in a dry container (not in a tank) lined with newspaper/clothes/towels. I would check every few hours to rehydrate and feed if you want too.

Okay got it. I've traveled with her before but usually just a few hours on my way to college and what not so I kept her in a box but I wasn't sure about a longer trip. Her awesome 120 tank will be the first thing set up once we reach out destination.
