hi! i am having a tank built and need to keep the width at 12" because (in a nutshell) mr. turtle threw a fit when my new 90g tank was too wide for his turtle topper and promptly picked up his conch shell and crashed threw the wall of the tank....(there went my midterms!)....it was only two days old!!!!
now, months later and sick of taco bell to save $$ for a new home, im going acrylic and really dont want to upset him again so i am hoping to keep the tank at 12"w and thought that it isnt optimal, but if I had to keep them in a 55g, that would be the outcome, right?) ...i have a cool idea for the new tank but need your learned opinion on my proposed dimensions for the new (and hopefully final) tank....72l x 12w x 20h....the other tank was 15" wide and i tried to adapt the turtle topper to the last tank but couldn't do it securely enough and just wound up introducing a couple of other "contestants" for his approval....but they didnt make the grade apparently!!! i also got a stand with the other tank, which was 72 x 15 x 22h....),
i am under a tight timeline (i have to try to answer that question tonight....i know i might not be able to get an answer by then, but i figured it was worth a try!!!) mr. turtle is getting a little possessive with the lower shelf on the turtle topper and baby turtle likes it as well, so now there is getting to be a stand-off situation (basically mr. turtle wont budge and hasnt for three days!)...so time is of the essence in order to keep the peace!! thx!!
