Post Posted: Tue Mar 21, 2006 8:02 pm   Hello from Norwood Mass.

I am a newbie to the RES game of life and I love my babies like no other pet I have ever owned and I am just going through some of the postings and I am horrified with all that I didn't know and in need of some direction . I have (4) RES and their names are BIG MOMMA, Binka, L.G (little girl ), all 3 are girls and then there is Pacho my little boy.
there is no challenge too great for the love they give us and it blew my mind that they could have such personalities and could be so loving, good tank set up great filtration system but I couldn't find anyone even at some pet stores that had good info on RES ............... H E L P .!
we are always interested in any new advise and
are welcome to any questions that involve problems with filtration and any hot tub questions is ok, occupation: spa tech.

Welcome to the forum. All the info you need to raise healthy RES can be found here on the forum or on the main site. Just post with a specific question if you have one.

We love to see pics if you have any to post! :)

Wow, we're talking about a lot of aquarium space! I hope you have a big house. Seriously though, welcome. Tell us about the set up that you have for the girls and boy, and like Sonja said, we love to see pics!

Welcome. :) Pics would be nice. What filtration system are you using in how big of a tank?

I built my own system from spa pumps and a trap multi layer foam and active coal set up that works with a ball valve at each end for easy cleaning and I also use a pc board to control the water flow, heat and multi jet sequencer for a mild waterfall and low end water flow for a mild current to keep waste flowing .

That sounds quite clever. How big a tank is the system filtering?

sorry I had a few set backs and couldn't get on line but here I am .
I made a small pond type of set up out of a kids pool and put the jets in with screw clamps so there wouldn't be any nibbling going on its a great set up but really hard to take down and clean throughly.
