So it all started of by going to the chinese mall (Pacific Mall), me and my sister were going to get this hack for the Ipad that allows you to get any app you want for free.
we gave the shop owner the Ipad and he told us to come back in half of an hour, between thaat time me and my sister walked around the mall and ended up infront of this stand/shop that had betta fish, gold fish, AND cute little RES turtles in about 6 galloned tank and there were 27 baby turtles.
Usually my family would never let me buy a turtle but I figured out what would they do? NOTHING!
So I ended up walking happly when my sister told me that in a few months we'll come back and buy it. :D :D :D
In those months I started researching, reading, typing and asking questions to this forum, and I got the whole picture, IT IS NOT AS SIMPLE AS IT SEEMS! And the problem is that many owners think that and buy it right away with this small 3 gallon tank!
So I ended up buying water heaters, really Powerful filter, and a heat/uvb/uva lamp.
In total it's 347$.
After months of reading and working I finaly went and bought a turtle, almost all the turtles went towards me, I asked the shop owner to feed them, then my turtle ran pushing all the turtles! I picked him up and loved him!
I bought him and because I had the feeling that he will be in a fish bag I brought a see throu contanir with some moist paper towels.
Then once I let him free in his tank the first thing he did was to go on the ramp

Everyone thanks for the guidence! Now I have one happy turtle and will proudly help new turtle owners!

Me too. I thought it would be a simple pet to keep and I was so wrong.

I think most people feel the same way Steve. It's most likely why you'll find so many RES on Craigslist.

Anyone in the reef hobby will tell you RES keeping is very cheap and very easy compared to reef keeping. :P (and part of the reason why I just gave away my reef after 12ish years).
