Hi guys,

My names Rich i live in London, UK

I own 2 terrapins, although i dont think they are actually RES? currently they are in a 160 liter tank but only have about 50 liters in, i have been inspired by the external basking areas, would love to fill up the tank, This is something i had never considered!

Could someone tell me the breed of mine? and do you think its healthy? i dont know the breed either :/

Welcome to the site! She looks OK though her shell could be a bit smoother. She appears to be a type of map turtle, though I might need other pictures to be certain.

They are about 4-5 inches in size, im currently in the process of planning and gathering materials for an external basking area as i feel there is not enough water in my tank.

They are often swimming into the sides of the tank - i assume this is not normal?

And please remove gravel from the tank, especially anything that is smaller than your turtle's head.
