Hello guys,

I hope you all are doing well! I just got my two hatchlings two weeks ago and have stumbled in this site a week ago. Since then I always come and visit here to read different threads related to my two new members of the family. I haven't decided a name for them yet 'coz I'm not sure if which one is male and which one is female. Though the guy from the pet store told me that they are male and female. I hope they are.

For the meantime, I'm still placing them in a 5 gallon tank (I know, very small) but I'm still preparing a budget for their bigger tank. So far I'm learning a lot from this site and I will continue to visit this so I can gain more knowledge and information that will help in the growth of my RES.

I will take some pictures of the two when I have the time

Welcome! Check Craigslist for a bigger tank. You can usually get a pretty big one for cheap. will will need over 100 gallons by the time they are full grown but theres a chance you will have to separate them due to aggression and require two 75 gallons. They are expensive at first but once they are all set up they dont cost much at all . Looking forward to the pics..baby RES pics give me flashback haha

Thank you! Actually I'm planning to have mine custom built since it's cheaper here compared to buying ready-made tanks.

yeah, craigslist or custom ^^ are much cheaper and you can get some really nice tanks

Yeah new tanks are insanely expensive once they hit 100 gallons because they dont usually have them in stores and shipping is a nightmare. I got a 150 gallon for $375 with all the bells and whistles off Cragslist .. just keep an eye out. A lot of people are triyng to get rid of things fast so they can move or what have you.

My ladies are 10 years old and roughly 10 inches each

Wow! Those are big and healthy ladies you got there. Do you have a whole picture of your tank? Just wondering how big a 150-gallon tank is. I might not have room for that here in our little home.

Mine measures 48 x 24 x 31 Tall so its kind of fat and squarish but a lot of them are narrow and long
