Hi, My RES is Slimer. I am his slave because my turtle book said he would live to be 15-25 years old. Online I am reading he can be 40+ !!!!!!!! I love my turtle, have had him for 8 years (since he was about 4" long), but the care involved is overwhelming! He was bought by my husband (at the time) and the kids insisted we (that's means me) keep him. Now I am the sole tank cleaner, feeder, etc... So 2 kids, 3 dogs and the turtle. It's a lot to handle, and I have 30+ years to go. Wow. Any suggestions on filters? I have 2 Fluval 2 filters that need to be replaced. I'd like something that works well, but isn't too difficult to take care of... Thanks!

How big is the tank and Slimer now?

Thanks! Slimer shell is about 6.5 inches, it's a 75 gallon tank that I fill about 50-55 gallons.

I would say the XP3 would be good for your setup. If the tank were full, I would look into the FX5.
