Might as well start with how I got my lovely little turtle, I suppose. First, you might want to know that I am seventeen and have three younger brothers. The younger two are identical twins, the culprits in this story.
While the twins were out playing one day at our neighbor's pond [as they aren't supposed to...] they stumbled upon what they thought was a rock. As one bent over and meant to chuck it into the pond for the heck of it, he realized that it was a turtle that had been on its back for whatever reason. Within an hour, this turtle was brought home and became the new pet.
Honestly, I prefer the turtle over the sixteen or so frogs they had been catching... two of which got loose in the house. We still have never found one, about two months later. The rest were released safely where they were found.

Now, through lots of research, trial, and error, Kame [said Kah-meh, it's Japanese for turtle  ] now has a livable home situation. We still don't know for sure whether Kame is a he or she, so it's likely you all will see me refer to him either way. At this point, I'm leaning towards she, though. She's about four inches long and rather shy, though not so shy I've never seen her eat.

As for me, I'm the oldest of the four kids of the house, and Kame has become my baby more than my brothers'. They still come up to my room to play with her, though.
