Hello guys im new here from Chicago. dont know too much about turtles but i've been reading a lot for a couple of months. i just got my first RES 3 days ago so ill be very active on these forums to learn a lot more about them. i still need to buy a water filter and a proper basking area for Fish (thats what i named him??/her??) the only question i have now is what kind of food is good for them? it is only 2" big so im not sure exactly what to feed it. Also im not sure which exact lighting to use for it

Lighting and filtration will depend on the setup you have, how big is it? As for food, most people use a reputable pellet like reptomin as a staple and introduce other foods gradually.

its a 20g tank with a 40g water filter. i just got the turtle so its a simple set up for now. i bought the pelets but he just doesnt eat, he just sits in his basking log

Check the feeding section for tips, you might want to consider using some live prey to get his attention.
