Had them since they were little dots, and I've always wanted turtles for pets. 3.5 years later Im still fascinated and am dedicated to them. Plan on keeping these two till the day they die.
My dream came true the day I bought them. It wasn't an impulsive purchase like most people do over here. It saddens me when I see on the auction websites full turtle setups for sale because people dont know what really is involved. Masher has just started chirping , not too sure why this is but I guess I will learn along the way. The vets here in New Zealand do not specialise in turtles so I have to contact the local zoo to find out the info. New Zealand is a colder climate being south of the equator, so I can only put them outside in summer. Winter is too cold so they live in their tank, and run around the apartment during the warmer days.
They have a good life, we spoil them with all kinds of foods, and I'll be posting pics up later on.
