Hi everyone,
My name is Gene G. but my user name is genegene, since I am a Geocacher and that is my user name as well.
Well to start off, I have had many turtles over the years but never kept any for very long as they were wild born.
Recently I rescued a Painted from becoming a road Pattie and brought her home to show the little ones, and they fell in love with her.
They wanted to keep her but I informed them that she lives out side and wanted to go home.
The next day I let her go and started planing on getting them some turtles of there own.
I now have 3 baby R.E.S that just arrived 2 days ago.
Here are the stats of what I have for a habitat for them at this point in time.

50 gallon tank. Will update as money becomes available. This is big enough for now
EHEIM professional 250 LPH = 66 GPH
I'm thinking of upgrading to the Eheim Pro 2 thrmofilter 600 LPH = 158 GHP
One of those big floating fake rocks everyone has that attaches to the side of the tank
100 watt heat lamp (above the tank)
Flukers Mini sun dome that holds a Repti Glo 26w 10.0 UvB fluorescent bulb
Moonlight bulb (forgot the name of it and I can't find the box because my son took of with it. Will update it when I find it)
2 underwater heaters. Both are needed since they are to small on there own. I need to up date these to one heater.
Feeding for the little ones I use ZooMed Natural Turtle Food Hatchling Formula.
Lots of fake plants
Undergravel Filter
Black Stone.
Yup the stone I'm not supposed to have in there for the Turtles. I do have Sand but I have to wait until the fish are gone.
Most of them are plicos and they are big.
As soon as I have a home for them I can actually break down the tank and set it up the right way without killing the fish I have had for about 7 years.
Future plans are a Basking box and a Real Grass platform that they can go into and lounge in. I still need to figure out how to do the grass but i have an idea, and it will look great.
