Ciao everybody!
To begin with I´d like to thank everybody who´s been posting on this forum, it´s been excellent help to us! Thanx!
Since Big Gal Emma (res) moved in with me this summer I´ve been regulary checking out this forum for information, had no experience at all with turtles and nowdays I´m a real turtle geek, to my friends disapointment as I´m not talking about other things than turtles anymore :D

Here´s some info about Emma : we reckon that she´s about 20 years old or more, due to size ( 12 inches in diameter) and her history, she´s been through quite many people during the years, and has finally reached her home! Ooh yes, she´s here to stay, I´m never letting her go!
Due to all information here she´s now in much better condition, the red around her ears is now deep wine red compared to the pale red she was before, ofcourse the paleness could be a cause of her 3 weeks journey outside, she fell from the third floor at spring and had her own little adventure into the Finnish forrest for a three weeks period, arrived home suprisingly sound and well though.

We got one huge problem with our darling Emma, she doesn´t eat veggies, we´ve been consistent and tried and tried and tried, grapes is fun to push around but all other forms of veggies is like air to her, she ignores them totally, she loves shrimps, salmon and minced meat.
Due to her carnivore habit she gets veggie-pellets, hopefully this will be sufficient nutrition for her. No sign of pyramiding, phew, ´cause I´m real worried about her getting to much proteins.

I´ll be back with some pictures of Emma and her pal Zas the cat, Zas has lately discoverd that Emmas heat light is great (it´s -10 degrees celsius/ 14 degrees fahrenheit/ outside so our apartment is chilly too, no wonder that Zas is drawn to the heat)! They sleep snugly with eachother under the basking light. Amazing that Emma lets her ´cause when she´s walking around the floor she doesn´t let Zas near her, she snaps and hisses at him, probably Emma has discoverd the benefits of a warm furry cat too!

This was all for this time! Feel free to critize, comment, give advise, or whatever else you might want to say! I´m all ears! :)

Happy new year!

Hi Sabina! What a lovely family you have. Welcome to the forum. I know there are instructions somewhere on this site for posting an avatar....I forgot where they are...sorry - someone will rescue us! And by the way, it's COOL to be a turtle geek.

Thanx, more people who thinks turtle-geeks are COOL!
Yeey, I´ve found my little safe corner in this confusing internet world!
I´ll continue to look for the avatar instructions, I might be using completely wrong search-strings, well...I´ll keep on searching.

Here are the instructions I found. Good luck.

Using Photobucket or a similar site:
1: You need to first post the pic on an image hosting site like www.photobucket.com. Make sure the album is set for public viewing and not private.

2: Once you save the pic there, you will have three options
URL
TAG
IMG

Highlight the IMG link, right click and select copy. Then right click and paste it into your post.

It will should look like this Image

The pics are great. Emma looks like a big mush.
