Hey all. I recently inherited 2 Young RES and I just want to say how WONDERFUL this site has been on helping me get them set up correctly! About 3 weeks ago, my BF's roomate dissapeared. We discovered 5 RES housed together in a ten gallon tank! There was barely enough water to cover them. Even though I've never been into turtles b4, I KNEW this had to be wrong. I stepped in to feed the poor things and change their water, but as of yesterday, I decided this guy didn't deserve to have these turtles! I was able to give the 3 bigger ones away to someone who knew what they were doing and brought the two "babies" home.
I "think" they're both female, so they have the current names of Thelma and Louise (I know, originall, lol). I have them in a ten gallon tank, mostly full of water, with some live water plants that are safe for them to munch on, and a turtle platform. Theres also a lamp for basking. I know this isn't quite ideal yet, but I'm working on it! They already seem much happier, swimming around, and lounging on they're platform.
Anyway, just wanted to say "hi" and thanks again everyone for such a wonderful site. Any suggestions would be so helpful!
