I'm a long time lurker, first time poster, and brand new turtle owner.
My mother received the little guy (I'm hoping and assuming it's a guy) as a surprise gift.
Though she hasn't the time to care for him so I've taken him up as my own.
Basically a couple of my mother's friends (turtle owner themselves) had gone on a trip and came back with the turtle in tow. Unfortunately the trip was five hours long and he wasn't transported properly so he was a bit skittish. Since he was a surprise we hadn't prepared an inclosure for him.
That's all in the past now and he's thriving and enjoying being pampered out of his mind.
I've accepted the responsibility of watching over him and can't wait to see him grow!
If it wasn't for this site I don't know where we'd be now!
