Hello from Alaska!
I adopted 2 RES that were at our local animal shelter. I think they are both boys and they are about 8" each. I know nothing about keeping turtles, but this site has been a great source of info.

Here are a couple of pics.
I am in the process of getting a larger setup for them. they came in a 30gal tank :( 1/3 of which was full of rocks to make a basking area. I constructed a makeshift spot above the tank so that I could maximize their swimming area.

Thanks! Its hard to get stuff here in Alaska. I am heading to town next week and will pick up some more supplies. The shelter was doing the best they could, but they have limited resources. I have a lead on a 240 gal tank, I hope I can use it so these guys can finally get some swimming room!
