I guess since I'm a veteran RES rescuer and actively advertise this site I should introduce myself.
I'm Marc, and I run the Little RES Q in Toronto Canada. I've been rescuing unwanted sliders for 2 years officially but have been doing this for many more.
I'm respected in my field and I work closely with various ministries and animal control societies who come to me for help. We've rescued over 200 sliders between to 2 locations and have been able to relocate almost 50% of them into new loving homes.
