hi everyone,
im a new RES turtle owner and already im loving it. the thing that makes the most happy is that theres a whole website with people helping other people with the RES and giving advice :)

my RES is named Gordon, currently i have him in a 5 gallon tank.i have a really good filter and the turtle bank for his basking area. the are river rocks for my substrate. i have a basking light but its not top of the line so when its a nice sunny day outside, i built a playpen for him so he can have some sunlight:)

i know its small but i can explain:) im a kid with a big passion for animals and my parents dont like it when i have a lot of stuff so i said ill buy most of the stuff with my alounce. (long story, so i shortned it)

i actually had another RES named sheldon but at that time i didnt have the proper equipment and he had passed away. :( so when i got Gordon, i was prepared with the tank and everything.

so, that was a pretty long introduction but like i said, im loving it.
RES FTW!

welcome, you should maybe think of getting a larger tank. 5 gallons will not be big enough very soon if not already. Your turtle is lucky to have an owner who cares enough to spend the time online researching for it. I hope gordon lives a long healthy life :)
I have two female red ear sliders.
Chimpy - 5.5 inches
Chompy- 6.0 inches
Both were born about 7/2007
Got them -- 9/2007

Oh,ok. I didn't know if you had one or not, because you took your turtle outside. Well, hopefully you can get a new basking light soon, and a UVB Bulb so you won't have to take your turtle outside alot!
