I was adopted by a RES that showed up one day about a month ago in my little in the ground pond by my front door. He is about 2 - 2 1/2 inches long and I've named him Bubba. Seemed like a good name for such a tiny, cute little guy. I've gotten him turtle food, water lettuce and anacharis and he seems to like it. I sit out there and talk to him in a "baby talk" higher voice like I do my dogs sometimes and he always comes over by me and sticks his head out of the water. Sometimes when I talk to him, he tilts his head like he understands. I've been doing research on the site and I'm learning the best way to take care of him.

I feel like since he found me, maybe I was meant to care for him for some reason. I've grown so fond of him and really enjoy going out there and seeing him swimming around or just laying in between the anarcharis hanging out. I've never been a "reptile person" but I've always thought that turtles were cute.

Thanks for all of the great information and advice that is on this website. It's exactly what I was looking for.
