Hello everyone, My name is Jennifer, im a n00b from dfw. We were driving home from the pet store today, and found a red ear slider turtle crossing the road. Here is the thing, i dont think it was wild, the shell was super clean, and he seemed VERY Calm like he was some one's pet. We dont live with in miles of any creeks... so it was kind of odd finding him.

I think we are goiing to try to keep him, we have several lizards, geckos, and many of other kinds of animals.

Seeing as it seems that you know your what it takes to care for herps . I am sure you will not be shocked to find all the stuff that your new little guy would need . And I is really sad that people would throw about a turtle .

Yhea.... at least take him back to a pet store and let some one else take care of him.

Unless we can find a larger tank i think we make take him to the pet store....

Although knowing my mother she will come up with a tank of some sorts!

Rubbermaid tubs are your friend . For a tank for cheap.

There is no way in hell this is a wild RES, she just ate out of our hands, and is eating pellets.

We got her a 40 gallon breader tank, so its long and wide.

She also seems to be molting, is this bad?
