Okay, my name is Cameron :)

I got my turtle at the end of my ninth grade year, some kid wanted me to pay 15$ for a baby turtle that he found. If you knew me, you would know to assume that I didn't pay him.

I got the turtle in a little container, it mustve been a little bigger than a quarter. The container was empty, and it just didn't feel right, so I filled it with a smiggen of water, and poked holes in the top.

I looked my turtle in the face, and had a tough decision, the name. I was thinking Raphael (Like the red ninja turtle, from the red on its head) or Larry. I looked that turtle in the face, and said "I don't care if you are a boy or girl, from this day forth your name is Larry!"

I got it home, with NO idea where I was going to keep this turtle (I know, irresponsible, but I was immature). I end up getting a bowl, and putting some sand in one half, and water in the other, and fed Larry some lettuce. We went out to eat, and I did not know that these animals were so curious, or adventurous. Upon arrival home, I find Larry missing.

The frantic search begins, though I feel I have not lost much, I had no connecting with the turtle. We found Larry under my backpack.

We took an old fish tank, smallest thing in the world, and put larry in there. No basking pad, no filter, no anything, except water. I did some research on this site, and decided it's time for a change in Larry's life (Not so much for Larry [very careless] but more for my pride, since everyone had told me that I would have the turtle dead in a week).

Also on the site, I found out how girl turtles look, and it matched Larry, so I had "Larry, The Female Red-Eared-Slider".

Larry got a 15-gallon tank, basking pad, basking-light, filter, a little scenery and a backdrop thing.

Here I am in 11th grade, almost a Senior, and Larry is still alive. Here's a shocking fact too, I found out last night, that she is a boy! I don't care though, two years from calling her a her, it feels weird calling her him, so she's still a her to me.

I really want to get her a larger tank now, because she is about 3 insches across.

She is very people shy if you reach for her, but loves to be talked to. She doesn't like being out of the tank to walk around. When taken outside (the one time) she ran from the sun into shadow. She swims against the glass a lot too. OH and when you play rock band, she dances to songs she likes (I assume this because some songs she just lays there, and other songs she'll swim in place.)!

Well, now you know about larry and myself :D
