New to RES but an old hand at animals 6ound an RES on the road one day in the middle of nowhere, picked it up and took it home. I was worried it would get hit by a car. I have a 2200 gallon pond with some koi. The RES took to the pond like it was born for the water :) Then toward the beginning of winter poof no turtle. Looked everywhere. Just gone. Then toward the end of winter the guy next door found it in his yard. That was a couple of months ago. 6 weeks ago my wife found a baby then another. Then we found dead babys in the yard and the pond. I think the water was still to cold. I put the 2 turtles in a tank. All was fine then we find 5 more so the 40 gallon tank is no longer working out so well. Last weekend I started a new 125 gallon pond that for now will have a water heater and a foam board cover for the nights when it is still cool out. Anyway cool site, I have kept reptiles, reef fish, parrots, dogs, cats, well you get it almost any animal that will fit in a house ;)
