I'm Jake from central Jersey. Been browsing the site for a little bit today, lots of great information!
My younger sister has had two RES that she got from Chinatown in NYC about 5ish years ago, maybe longer. Tony and Lee.
She's still in college, and they've been living at home being taken care of by our mother, and she was getting a little tired of it. So my sister was planning to find them a new home, and I decided to adopt them from her.
Tony is about 5-6in, male (huuuge claws)
Lee is about 4in, not sure if male or female haven't exactly looked yet.
Anyway they're currently in a 30 gallon heated tank (~76*F) with a small basking area. There are two goldfish in there with them that are about a year old that were supposed to be turtle food 2 years ago
I just bought a 75 gallon tank that will become their new habitat once it's all set up, and I've been reading through this forum on how to go about that. I REALLY like the idea of an "upstairs" basking area, that didn't occur to me whatsoever until I saw that today! I love building hobby projects so this is right up my alley!
I'll post pictures when I get all the supplies/rocks (not gravel though from what I understand!)/filter/lighting ready to be put together!
