I am the proud owner/mother of a painted turtle...
I prayed it was a boy and named him Henry...but I found out abnout 3 months ago that its a girl. I recently read it can take a few years to have an accurate answer. But I will always refer to him as a "he'
I got Henry when he was a hatchling he was about the size of a quarter. I am assuming he was somewhere around 2-3 months old when I got him.. I ahve had him for 1 year and 3 months. He is very playful and love to hunt is rosy reds.
I hope to be able to post some pictures soon!

I also wanted to add that we live in the absolutely *currently* snowy Michigan...
