Just wanted to introduce myself here. I just acquired two RES hatchlings...I know it's illegal to buy in the store.

Long story short, me and the misses are shopping downtown LA. I come out of a store and she and my two daughters are holding the death bowl with the 2 hatchlings. Says "the girls fell in love and they were only $5" Who woulda thought that this $10 investment would be so much to take in?

One 60 gallon tank, 100 Gl canister filter, 20 lbs of sand, driftwood hunting, hours of forum digging and $500 later, these herps are now properly housed and enjoying their new habitat.

I am constantly learning about these fabulous creatures and continue to be amazed. I hope to gain access to all of your knowledge in these forums and share the knowledge that I will be acquiring with newcomers like myself. I know this is a lifetime investment as these turtles will likely outlive me so I plan to make their time with our family as healthy as possible.

Welcome! It sounds like you're well on your way to learning about turtles and that you've set your two up in a pretty nice tank. You've done yourself a huge favor by starting out with a relatively large tank, it will pay off in the long run!
