hi new turtle owner and was wondering if someone can tell me about the right water tempeture i have been told several different things know and have know idea what to do. My water temp is about 75 and the basking area is about 85-90. is this an accurate temp?
I am an animal lover and the turtle makes a great pet for my 2 little kids who love to watch him swim and eat and think it is great that he pulls himself inside his shell.

Yeah thats a good temperture, but you should have thermometer in your habitat to make sure the temperture stays about the same.

For turtles under 4 inches, then 78 F water. For turtles over 4 inches, then 75 F. Basking area should be around 90 (give or take 2 degrees).

Thank u there is a thermometer in the tank and it stays between 75 and 78 in the water. Once again thank u the store i bought her at told me 100 on the warm end and 70 on the other. That is why i came to this site she did not like the warm end and would not bask. Now she is very happy.
