Hi there. I am a newer turtle owner. I have never had a turtle. I have a friend of a friend of a friend so to speak lol that bought one really cheap and small in LA. They weren't aware of all of the up keep so they were just going to throw it out or simply stop taking care of it So my best friend asked if I might want it knowing that I have always been fascinated by aquatic life. I am learning so much I had no idea all that is involved. Its a lot of fun yet overwhelming at times. I named "it" Tic Tac like the candy because I also have a Chihuahua named Pez

So far I have a 20 gallon glass Aquarium, whisper quiet filter, basking ramp and UV lamp.

I have had it going on four months now and I think Im doing ok. Any helpful hints would be much appreciated. I look forward to chatting with some of you and learning more.

Do you have both UVA and UVB lights, or a combo? Other than that it sounds like you're doing good.
