Hello everyone, I am new to this board...and I am very excited to have found it! I am the mom to 3 wonderful sliders! I have 2 females named Sugar and Gavin and a male named Gwen. I have had them for about 7 years now since they were babies! I never really knew what I was doing with them, but I kind of just went along with it and it came natually...lol. They all live in seperate tanks now due to not getting along. The 2 females fight because Sugar is the boss. The male can't be with either female because he is too aggressive...(he ate the webbing between Gavin's back feet and tried to take a chunk out of her butt). They all seem to be pretty comfortable with me. Sugar is like my child...she loves to lay in bed and sleep with me. Gavin likes have have her back/butt scratched...we call her wiggle butt. And Gwen seems to lean when you scratch him! The only time I ever have any problems/concerns is when the girls go into "heat" Gavin has layed 1 egg which makes me think that she has more but she wont lay them. Sugar gets into moods where when you take her out and rub her shell...she stretches out her legs and kind of goes into a trance. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am happy I found this board and I hope you guys can help with some of my questions.
