We planed on getting a "small" little baby, to grow and learn with, but as soon as we saw this big guy on the heating rock in the pet store, we were sold ! Currently we have him in a 30 gallon tank, but are eagerly serching for the "perfect" 70 gallon. The Pet Store assistant stated that he would be fine in a 30 gallon by himself, but after finding this site and taking a peek at all of your wonderful habbitat pictures, we quickly realized that... haa ha, the pet store guy didn't know as much as he though. lol.
Although his quarters may be cramped, he is full of life. Swimming all over, basking in the sun on his sunning rock,splashing at the bubbles from the filter, eating like a crazy guy, and amusing the heck out of our Boston Terrier.....I think she was a cat in a prior life (don't tell her I said that though....)She won't leave the frount of that tank for all the kibble in China! Every time he makes a sound she is *baaark* right there !
We are looking forward to chatting, and learning more about RES and other types of turtles. Once again, this is a wonderful site, we are super glad we found it !
P.S. This is Crush (named by our 7 year old cousin) cause you know as soon as he saw him he looked over at us and with all the lazyness of a surfer boy went "He sooo tottaaally rocksss duuude!" and The Hubs (without skipping a beat) went "Cheaaah"....
