Hi all,

I am the new owner of a terrapin that has been in the family 20 yrs or so - we have now adopted the terrapin (Arthur) and a tortoise (Marg) as the rest of the family are living abroad.

My husband and I are learning a lot about these little fellas and have grown very attached to Arthur - my cat, Stan, hasn't paid him much attention at all!

We have spent a lot of time (and £££s) getting him set up better as he wasn't in good conditions before but I am now worried as it doesn't look near as good as the piccies posted on the website??

He now has a basking platform and lights and a shiney new tank but it looks really bare...

Anyway I will check out the site and look around for more tips and advice on how to make Arthur a V. happy terrapin

Hello and welcome. You refer to Arthur as a terrapin and speak of spending a lot of pounds---are you abroad as well?

Hi,

I'm in Berkshire, UK. I shall get some piccies up in a bit - need my husband's help with that I'm afraid.

Marg is a Horsfield and is about 5 or 6 - she was originally my brothers then went to live with the folks and is now currently occupying our brand new coffee table! ho hum

Arthur is great, so sociable - he occupies a spare bit of kitchen worksurface (not near food prep area) that used to have a lovely wine rack on it... (we have a very small house!). It will be nice when we move to get a larger set up for him - its not ideal but at least it is quite a large tank and certainly larger that what he was in.
