Hi, my name is Danny. I've have had my RES for quite some time. It might be 4-5 yrs since I've had them. Unfortunately I don't think I have been taking good care of them. I always wanted to get a tank for them, but never had the chance and just kept them in a big plastic bowl and filled with 1/2 in. of water. I've been reading up on some basic things for them. And I plan on going shopping this weekend to help get things set up. I hope to learn alot more things about them, because I seriously want to take care of them.

Welcome to the site, I'm glad you've decided to improve your turtles' living situations, it sounds like they could use some upgrading. You've certainly found a good source of info.

Greetings! When you get your turtles' habitat upgraded, you'll probably see a big change in their personalities. Turtles get a boost in energy when they have space to swim, good basking and a good diet. You probably have already noticed that a decent setup for a RES is pretty elaborate. Don't let that put you off though. We're happy to help with any questions you may have. Once you get the setup to where it should be you'll find it pretty easy to maintain and you'll enjoy your turtles more than ever.

Hello! Welcome, no need to feel ashamed, I was in the same position until I got here..don't remember how though..I think my tank is still a bit small for my turts. but its a lot better than a plastic box with 1in of water and cramped space :]
