hi this is johnny im here to learn more about turtles so i know which is best ... im here to talk about the size of tanks that are the best to use. So i can get my understandings of turtles to a maximum. all your help will make me happy... :)

Welcome to the site! Your tanks size should be 10 gallons for every inch of shell your turtle has, and regular fish tanks are the best to get.
Look on the site for other info on your turtle. It will tell you everything you need! :)

Thanks for the help. we got a 55 gal tank given to us but the black platic trim is dry rotted and cracked. will it still be safe to fill with water?

the black trim is the platic that goes around the top and bottom of the tank.both are cracked and dry rotted.

The trim is only used to cover the silicone, and the water line. Make sure you inspect all the silicone seals, and you may want to test fill it outside first. :wink: Awesome that someone gave it to you though!!!! :D :D :D :D
