I'm so excited!!!! I've finally found a website that I can trust. I know enough about my turtle to see unreliable sites and this one is GREAT!!! They actually answer the questions I have. I'm also excited to find that there are other people out there that are as obsessed with their turtle as I am!! I thought I was the only "turtle freak" out there!! It's nice to see I'm not the only one!!! LOL!!!!
Hope to hear from you all soon!!!

I have 3 sliders, Jimmi (f), Ricki (f), and Billi (m) (they were named before they could be sexed). Jimmi and Ricki are pretty big girls and Billi is smaller (I don't know their exact measurements, I'll have to measure them later) I got Jimmi and Ricki at the same time and got Billi about a year later. The girls are about 8 years old and Billi is about 7. When I got them they were the size a quarter. I didn't know too much about water turtles when I got them. I had previously only owned box turtles. Now upon reading some of the info on this site, I'm surprised they survived. I kept them in a flat fish bowl with a desk lamp in my bathroom for about a year. Now I have educated myself (and everyone around me) about proper care. They are the best pets I've ever had. This year I made an outdoor enclosure for them (just for the summer) and they are so funny to watch. They love it!!!
OK, I think I've rammbled on long enough. I'm just so excited to talk to people that love their turtles as much as I do!!!

Sounds like you really learned your stuff. What kind of enclosure are they in when they aren't in the pond?

Definitely put up some pics of your little ones.

Myself and my wife are reall new to RES's but are loving them. I have 2 RES and they are in a basic tank at the moment but we are getting a new one much larger and are going to spend time setting it up. Love the Ideas on this site and loads of good info.

Welcome! This site has the most awesome people you'll ever find!
I never thought I'd be into turtles, but I gotta say I'm feeling like you. I love my guy. Sometimes, I just want to pick him up and hug him. :)
