WOW!! What more can one say, the use of words flowing one after another. Gently elevating each others meaning, you must try writing a novel, I can see it now "The story of a Herman." And Herman a turtle of many words, 32 outstanding. It's still rattling in my mind, Herman the sole survivor of five living to the age of man. WOW!! Simply beautiful!! :-)

Just don't cook him or let him write an exposé about you in a tabloid. Could mean risky business!

Your story is exactly what I want with my two little fellas, they're about 4 months old right now. I want them to get so old their beards surpass mine. I want to heckle the neighborhood children at age 138 with my two turtles (who by that time will be able to fluently speak Sumerian and crack top secret gov't codes).

Oh, and Herman was also the name of a wild snapping turtle I caught when I was young and took care of for the majority of a summer when I was a little kid. I still miss that thing, even if it probably would have snuck into my bedroom eventually and ate my foot or something. We eventually let him go towards the mid-end of summer in the place I found him, and people to this day see it wandering around, supposedly. It probably hangs around outside shady biker bars and beats up guys named Chet and Hank.

Oh my gosh, my Sheba has an "older brother"!!! LOL!!!!

Please post pictures of Herman when you can. You should have named him Sherman, after a "tank!" He sounds like one tough cookie!!!!

I'll tell Herman Sheba thinks of him as a brother. He'll be so thrilled. See my post in this thread for the reason why.

And yes, I'll have to get a camera soon. My digital camera decided to retire unexpectedly.

Oh lord, Herman just asked what kind of flowers Sheba likes to eat. Sigh.

GlaD TO Be A MeMBeR, :) I have a 2 yo male turtle and a baby turtle 2-3 months old, I'm interested in knowing more about them,
hugs, Albert, Donatello and Baby turtle and bunch of tropical fishes( 3 acuariums) :)
