My turtle is trying to kill me

She is extremely aggressive to anyone and everything that comes near her. She's 21 and has lived alone forever.
I used to take her outside to bask and hang out, but I stopped last year because she was getting super aggressive.
Any tips?

I think you just have to let them be sometimes. How big is her tank? What do you normally feed her?

It's a 40g turtle tank. She eats Zoo Med Aquatic Turtle food the adult formula, and roughly every two weeks she gets goldfish or guppies.

I would suggest a larger tank/more water based on her size, but it might not make a difference. Have you been her only keeper?

While I was away for 4 years, my best friend watched her, but that was 5 years ago.
How big of a tank is she suppose to have?

Usually about 10 gallons per inch of shell length. So if she's 10" long, then a 100 gallon tank.

And give her some treats? George is 1 years old and has a very rich variety in her diet.
