Other Turtle Discussion :: What do you think about this setup?

I was given a huge tank from a friend, thinking it was an amazing upgrade from a 10 gal. Sadly, the tank does not hold water. The bottom leaks I had to sit down and think "what to do, what to do?" when suddenly I though I could fill a large container ( a dish tub) so that takes one side of the tank. The other half is filled with rocks for the turtles basking and exploring. I used a hallow bridge decoration so the turtles can climb out as well as a lily pad they can get on if they want. There are fake vine-like floral decorations along the sides and back of tank. I was hoping this setup was ok.. what do you guys think?

Looks good, but I would upgrade soon.

If the glass isn't broken it's probably needs to be re-sealed. There are tons of tutorials online, but basically you have to remove all of the old silicone, clean the tank, and apply a new layer.

The tricky part is that silicone will not bond to itself once dry. So once you start adding the new silicone you can't stop until you've done the entire tank.

Also monitor the fake vine like decorations and the gravel/rocks. Your turtle may mistake it for aquatic plant/food,and eat it.

Thanks, the turtles don't go for the vines or the rocks. The river stones have been with them since I have had them. Plus, they are way to large for them to even attempt to eat
