Hello, I have a red eared slider, she is 3 years old. I have had her for a few months now. In about a year, when I move out, I was thinking about getting a larger tank and maybe adding another turtle to the tank with her. If I were to put a baby red eared slider in with her, would they get along? Would it be better if I put in an adult one that is her age in with her? Also, I was wondering, if I were to put a different type, like a Russian Tortoise maybe, would they get along at all?

You can't put a hatchling with an adult. If you have a female RES, you can try another female RES -- though there is no guarantee they will get along. Ultimately, you need to have a plan AND resources to separate them. You can try certain other similar species... a RT is not one of them.

My females fight. Even when they're the same size, one always shows dominance. There are methods to break this but they are not garunteed. For instance, last summer, I was able to place both my females in the pond, but this summer, I couldn't break one of their habits.

Thank you so much! So I wouldn't be able to put a male in with her? Would they mate?

With a male it will be worse, males are extremely territorial.

In nature they only come together to mate and to bask. With a large pond you can keep more then one since they will have distinct territories and can give each other lots of space. You don't have this in an aquarium, they each need their own separate tanks.

The previous owner of my female slider said that she killed her tankmate. I wouldn't try it.
