Yes the subject name is weird but I had no idea what else to call this :P

I wanted to talk about cute things your turtles do! Bowser is the name of my RES, he's 11 months old and he is the most adorable, entertaining and loving pet I, personally, have ever had. Whenever I come into my room, he pokes his head out of the water and swims right up to me, most likely begging for food :P But he loves getting head rubs! I'll pat him lightly on the head and scratch and rub his shell and he loves it! When I pick him up, I rub his head and he'll stretch out his neck and just like a bird, he'll move his head around to tell me where to rub next. I've had him ever since he was a hatchling and man was he shy! But he warmed up real quickly... It's amazing to see how big he's gotten. And how lucky I am that I correctly guessed his gender! Haha!

Every day he makes me smile and laugh. I must admit, I never thought turtles could be this entertaining or fun or even as loving as they actually are! He brightens up my day and I am SO glad to have him in my life!

You are lucky to have such a loving turtle! I have read that they don't like to be picked up or touched. My turtle is a rescue turtle. He is a male, I believe and is older than yours; about 5 maybe. He is more forthcoming with affection towards me, swims to the top of the tank, lets me hold his 'hands' and let's me dance him around the water at the top of his tank. I know that he is very aware of who is taking the most time with him, who pays attention and who feeds him. He's skittish though and being a rescue turtle (he was in a tiny tank when they dropped him at the Humane Society) I am giving him time and freedom so he doesn't think he cannot trust me or that I will not take good care of him. He is very fun and entertaining to watch. He is one of my favorite 'animals' and that includes people-animals!

I have a year old, as well as two babies now. The older one, Alexandra, is now accustomed to being touched and handled. I think that once your turtle gets used to handling he will start to enjoy it, as you apparently have experienced! Alexandra sits on my hand and my lap and lets me pet her head, neck and carapace. She certainly seems to enjoy the attention, at least until she gets distracted by something else that seems more interesting. ;-)

Our baby Timmy (hatched in January) seems to like it when my husband strokes his tiny nose. SO CUTE.
And I agree, I never thought I'd love turtles as much as I do. It's ... it's so rewarding. And they're just ... man. I love turtles.
