So i got these red ears off craigslist the other day because someone didnt want them any more and he brought them over and they almost look like a super light albino or a pastel color. he had them indoor all there life tho so there shells are like a weird yellow. I never really kept my turtles in side accept for like the first 2 or 3 months of owning them then they went outside to a pond.

My main question is, do red ears that spend mainly there life indoors with uv lights have a more light or yellowish color to them rather then the darker color or may i have 2 SEMI Morphs on my hands? there skin is super light and yellowish just like the shells and they look alot different from all my other red ears. also there full grown females.

Sounds like a color morph, but you should compare your turts with pics on the internet just to make sure. Also I don't think indoor conditions change a turtle's color because my turt is still a normal color after living indoors for 3+ years.

I also don't think being indoors will have a dramatic color difference, unless the turtles were seriously vitamin and nutrient deficient.

Well I knowthe exotic morphs like hypos and pastals. When they went from being inside to outside their colors darkened greatly. That was just with 2 turtles though. Not sure if it applies to everything.
