So my map turtle smeekelton has been thru a lot. He has moved cross country, lost his res girlfriend, moved across state, and recently lost all of his fish friends (they committed suicide!) He's so depressed! Seriously he never basks, doesn't eat, just walks around the bottom of the tank. I bet if I put another friend inhis habitat he would perk up. He's the only turtle I have ever met who won't eat his food if you dangle it in front of his face! Smeekelton has issues I guess.
He does have some brand new 2 day old treefrog eggs so soon he will have many new friends!! I hope he eats them or they get on his nerves so he will bask again.

Anyone else have a turtle who hates being alone and outside?
On the plus side being outside for 2 or so weeks is helping his shell look more healthy so I'm happy about that!

If you're certain you have a male, it's best to keep him alone :(

My female RES gives me mixed reviews when she's outside but she's usually trying to get out or tucked into a corner.
